Marie-Blanche de Polignac was the daughter of fashion designer Janne Lanvin and her husband Count Emilio di Pietro. Her parents divorced in 1903. From childhood she inspired her mother and she often woere her designs. On 21 May 1917 she married the physician René Jacquemaire, a grandson of Georges Clemenceau. They had no children and they divorced on 20 December 1922. On 28 April 1924 she married Comte Jean Marie Henri Melchior de Polignac and she became Comtesse de Polignac. She was a talanted singer and pianist and she performed with Nadia Bpoulanger. In 1926 she appeared in the short movie "Camille" under the direction of Ralph Barton. After her mother's death in 1946 she became president of the Lanvin house and held this position until her death in 1958. She was buried with her mother in Le Vésinet.
