Charlotte Dupuis was the daughter of the artist Raymond Louis Bordes from Nantes. She was on the stage in the theatre by the time she was eight years old. Until 1830 she performed in various theatres in Paris, including the Opéra-Comique. In 1830 she was contracted by the Théâtre du Palais-Royal where she was a soubrette for a long time. She married a painted named Dupuis. She acted until into her sixties. She also wrote several plays, some under the name of Antoine de Nantes. She gave acting lessons as well. She died in Paris in 1879 and was buried at Père Lachaise. |
